Fundamentals of Gasification Processes
5th and 6th April 2011

Course description:
The compact course “Gasification processes” is designed to provide a deeper insight into gasification technologies and related issues. Within four days a broad survey on gasification processes will be given. Starting with fuel preparation and a general overview on gasification processes the following part includes gasification technologies in detail. Fixed bed, fluidised bed and entrained flow gasification technologies will be explained combined with some field trips to get better impressions. Ash behaviour, warm gas cleaning and economics of IGCC will be explained by our two guest speakers from the Energy & Environmental Research Institute in the United States. Finally, some modelling aspects complete the course programme.
