Conditions of Purchase
Your use of this site and the sale and purchase of any items are governed by the terms of use of the site and these conditions of purchase. In using the site you are agreeing to these conditions.
Services
The Department of Energy Process Engineering and Chemical Engineering, hereinafter referred to as IEC, renders services according to the event description in the respective valid event program.
The IEC reserves the right to change lecturers or to modify the programme schedule in exceptional cases.
Registration, Confirmation, Ordering
The registration has to be addressed to the IEC in text format. It can be effected by online registration (http://www.gasification-freiberg.org), by e-mail, by fax or by post. Registrations will be considered and confirmed in the order of their arrival. When you submit your order request and credit card payment details, we will respond with an e-mail acknowledgement providing you with a customer order number, an authorisation code and a confirmation of your ordered goods, the value of your order and your shipping address. This e-mail will constitute our acceptance of your order.
Hotels
All participants are responsible for their own accommodation arrangements. A block of rooms will be reserved at a special rate for conference attendees (see detailed hotel list on the webpage). Book your hotel stay as early as possible to receive the discount. When booking the hotel please state keyword “IFC2012”. After the dates mentioned at each hotel in the hotel list we can not guarantee these rates.
Cancellation by the IEC
In case of cancellation of an event caused by force majeure or other circumstances beyond the control of the IEC, no claims can be raised in relation of the realisation of the event. In case of cancellation by the IEC, we are only obliged to refund the participation fees already paid.
Cancellations or changes by the participants
Registration must accompany registration form via email, fax or online registration. Payment must be made in EURO after receiving the invoice. Payment methods accepted are credit card payment and electronic/bank transfer.
Cancellations have to be sent to the Department of Energy Process Engineering (IEC) in text format. Cancellation with refund (less a handling charge of 100.00 Euro) is available until 20 April, 2012. After this deadline the whole participation fee according to the invoice has to be paid. In this case no cancellation fees or extra costs occur. Substitutions may be made at any time by notifying the conference office. If the substitute participant does not meet the same discount requirements as the registered participant the difference will be charged. Please advice us in advance of any name changes. The conditions of cancellation are valid for registered participants who do not attend the event without prior notice.
Privacy and Security
When you register with us, when you order from us, or when you modify your contact / membership details you will be asked to provide us with your name and address (including e-mail address). When you make a purchase online, your contact details and credit card number are collected by our payment processing company who provide the on-line customer credit verification service for our Internet Distribution and web design specialist Fortuna. The payment processing company will use your personal information only for credit verification purposes in the normal way as with any credit card transaction. Your credit card number will not be retained once the order has been passed to us for processing. Neither Fortuna nor IEC ever know your credit card number. We promise that any personal information, which you provide, will be treated in complete confidence and will be used to help us to continually improve our service to you, and will not be divulged to a third party. If you do not wish us to retain any personal information about you on our records, please contact us by letter, fax or email and ask us to remove your personal information from our files. The registration and product ordering parts of the catalogue are fully secure. This means that your personal contact information, your order details and your credit card number can be supplied by you in the knowledge that they can not be viewed or accessed by a third party.
Fees
With paying the registration fee you are entitled to attend all conference sessions, the welcome evening,the conference dinner, the guided city tour, conference documents, lunch as well as beverages during breaks. All extra services like visits to museums etc. as well as Technical Tours has to be paid additionally.
All fees do not include VAT.
Terms of payment
The participation fee has to be paid without deduction immediately on invoicing. Please transfer the participation fee only after receipt of the invoice.
Place of Jurisdiction and Applicable Law
The legal relations of the contracting parties from or in connection with the contract are subordinated to law of the Federal Republic of Germany. The place of jurisdiction for legal disputes from or in connection with the contract is Freiberg. If a provision of this contract is or shall become partially or fully invalid or unenforceable, the legal validity of the other provisions shall not be affected by this. The invalid or unenforceable provisions will be retroactively replaced by that valid provision, which would have been agreed on by the parties from an economic point of view, if they had known about the invalidity or unenforceability of this provision when the contract was concluded. The same applies for the case of a legal gap in the contract.
